Greetings!

I want to invite all our old friends and newly interested colleagues to the thirtieth annual meeting of the Lake Ontario Archives Conference. The Lake Ontario Archives Conference is a unique regional archival organization covering the dynamic north shore region in the Province of Ontario, Canada and the south shore historic region in New York State. We meet annually to exchange professional ideas, network and socialize with friends and neighbors in the region.

The responsibilities of archivists, local historians, records officers and museum and historical society professionals are increasing. In most cases as financial resources decrease, it is more important than ever that low cost and convenient continuing educational opportunities such as this one be made available. The Planning committee for the 1999 Lake Ontario Archives Conference has developed a strong program to assure that we provide those opportunities for ongoing program and professional development.

Please review this program brochure and consider joining us at SUNY Brockport for a great program. If you cannot join us, please pass this program on to a friend or colleague who may be interested. Again, on behalf of the Planning Committee, thank you for your interest.
